AMMAN, Jordan: The Pentagon identified two US soldiers killed in Jordan during a July 17 Iranian attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, naming Tyler James Feehan and Isabella Gonzales.
First Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, was killed in action on July 18. Private Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, died on July 17, according to a US Department of War casualty notice.
The department said both active-duty soldiers were supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, the US-led mission against the Islamic State group. It said the incident remained under investigation.
Feehan served with the 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defence Artillery Regiment under the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defence Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Gonzales served with the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defence Artillery Regiment. Her unit falls under the 52nd Air Defence Artillery Brigade and 10th Army Air and Missile Defence Command in Ansbach, Germany.
US Central Command previously said Iranian ballistic missiles and drones struck the base while American personnel were conducting air-defence operations.
A third service member remained missing after the Jordan attack. CENTCOM said the remains recovered near the site were undergoing identification, according to Stars and Stripes.

Another US service member died in northern Iraq on July 18 during the controlled detonation of unexploded material from a downed Iranian drone. One other person sustained a minor injury.
The confirmed deaths raised the reported US military toll in the conflict with Iran to at least 17.
