Tehran: Iran Guards shooting by a terrorist left two Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members dead at their home in Paveh, western Iran, state media reported Tuesday.
Iranian state television said two other Guards members were wounded in what it called a “terrorist and cowardly act.” The attack took place in Paveh, near Iran’s border with Iraq’s Kurdistan region.
State television said authorities were reviewing details of the incident and steps to identify those responsible. Iranian authorities did not immediately identify the attackers.
Tehran has previously blamed Kurdish separatist groups in the area for violence and accused them of links to the United States and Israel.
Separately, state television reported that gunmen sprayed a family’s vehicle with bullets Monday in Saravan, Sistan-Baluchistan province. The Saravan attack killed the father and wounded the mother, who later died of her injuries.
