ANKARA: Türkiye aims to double annual startup investment to $1 billion in 2027 from an estimated $500 million in 2026, while developing 13 homegrown technology firms valued at $1 billion or more.
Those goals appear in the government’s 2027 Presidential Annual Program, which seeks to improve startup financing and help technology firms compete abroad.
Ankara plans new funding calls under an investment-based support scheme for early-stage high-tech firms. It also intends to expand venture capital funds, fund-of-funds schemes and co-investment tools.
Türkiye’s Scientific and Technological Research Council (TÜBİTAK) received 2,844 applications for its entrepreneurship support programmes from January through September.
Meanwhile, the Technology and Innovation Fund plans to continue investing through the end of 2027. The Tech Visa programme has received 634 applications from technology startups.
Authorities approved 135 applications, while the initiative helped establish about 60 companies. Officials plan to promote the scheme more widely among remote technology workers, global investors and other skilled professionals.

Another 16 projects, with a $65.4 million budget, are planned for IPA-III. In the Digital Europe Programme, 118 Turkish institutions secured $16 million for 21 projects.
