GARDEN CITY, United States: President Donald Trump repeatedly called the women at the White House “young, beautiful girls” while discussing safety in Washington, D.C., the US capital.
“These young, these gorgeous, beautiful girls … they wanna be safe,” Trump said during the White House-recorded law-enforcement speech.
Trump said the women had approached him at the White House and thanked him because they no longer feared travelling to work. He did not identify the employees or provide details that would allow the conversations to be independently verified.
The official webcast was scheduled to begin at 2:50 p.m. EDT on Friday, at the David S. Mack Centre for Training and Intelligence in Garden City, New York.

Attorney General Todd Blanche and Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel attended the event, which focused on crime and public safety.
Trump also promoted Republican New York gubernatorial candidate and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman ahead of the November midterm elections.
Trump introduced the anecdote after saying Washington had been among the country’s most dangerous cities before his administration expanded federal law-enforcement operations there in August 2025.

A US Department of Justice report issued seven months before that intervention said Washington’s violent crime had already fallen 35% during 2024 to its lowest level in more than 30 years.
Metropolitan Police Department data covering Jan. 1 to Aug. 14, 2026, showed total reported crime down 20% and homicides down 33% from the comparable 2025 period. Total violent crime was 4% higher.
