BARA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: A Tirah Grand Jirga will be held on August 20 to discuss the return and financial assistance of displaced families.
Tehreek Mutasireen Tirah will convene the meeting at Bara Press Club. Organisers have invited a 24-member committee, elected representatives and a special representative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister.
The jirga will discuss the safe and dignified return of Tirah affectees. Participants will also consider financial aid and other demands placed before the government.

The movement decided to call the jirga during a consultative meeting held on Sunday. Chairman Rahmat Shah Afridi and spokesman Sohbat Afridi were among those who addressed the gathering.

Sohbat Afridi said the movement would pursue peaceful protest if needed. The jirga is also expected to decide its future course of action if no progress is made on the demands.
