Khan Wali Afridi said displaced families from Tirah Valley had faced homelessness, insecurity and severe hardship for years despite cooperating with state institutions.
He said the families remained deprived of basic human, constitutional and tribal rights, and called for the provincial government to implement commitments made to them.
Other speakers called for practical measures to address the problems confronting displaced persons and to ensure the provision of basic facilities in their areas.
In a declaration issued after the jirga, Hashim Khan Afridi said the participants would announce a final decision on holding a protest in Peshawar after a consultative meeting next Saturday.
