London: Newcastle United said defender Tino Livramento is expected to return during pre-season after undergoing minor surgery on a calf injury.
Livramento, 23, sustained the injury during England squad training in June and was later ruled out of the World Cup.
Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah replaced Livramento in the England squad after the Newcastle United player withdrew.
“Newcastle United can confirm that Tino Livramento has successfully undergone a minor surgical procedure,” the Premier League club said in a statement. “The defender … is expected to return during pre-season,” Newcastle United added.

Livramento made 17 Premier League appearances for Newcastle last season after a disrupted campaign.
The defender missed two months with two knee injuries before a hamstring injury in January sidelined him for 15 matches. Newcastle United will begin their 2026-27 Premier League campaign against Liverpool on August 23.
