Chaman border Shooting

At least three people were injured on Saturday when protesters clashed with security at the Pak-Aghan border crossing in Chaman, Balochistan.

The clash reportedly started after a delay in verification of documents by security officials. The situation escalated leading to clash between the travelers and the security forces.

Security officials resorted to baton-charge and aerial firing to disperse the protesters, who pelted stones at border officials.  The border crossing was closed down for over two hours and was later reopened.

It may be mentioned that the border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan had remained closed for over a month after a wave of terror attacks in the country.

Pakistan had also started fencing the border with Afghanistan and has deployed technical and air surveillance to prevent further attacks from militants who had sought refuge in Afghanistan. (PhotoNews/ARY News)
