LOS ANGELES: Singer Taylor Swift’s VMAs speech has prompted fan theories about an unreleased music video after she described her involvement in making “roughly 60” videos.
Swift made the remarks while accepting the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 27. She reflected on two decades of video-making before premiering “Patient Zero”.
Some fans compared her estimate with their count of 59 released videos, including the premiere. They questioned whether the difference hinted at another project.
Others linked the remark to a recent Spotify collection of her videos. Their theories included a video accompanying a previously unreleased song from her debut album’s rerecorded edition.
Another suggestion was a follow-up to “Patient Zero”.
Swift has not confirmed those theories. Her use of an approximate total does not establish that another release is imminent.
Separately, she won her sixth Video of the Year award for “The Fate of Ophelia” at the ceremony.
