The Supreme Court summer vacation schedule for 2026 will keep judges available for longer at the Principal Seat in Islamabad to support case hearings during the recess.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan said its judges agreed to the arrangement after a request from the Chief Justice of Pakistan and mutual consultation. The court said the move aims to maximise its institutional capacity and improve judicial efficiency.
Under the plan, judges will voluntarily maximise their sitting period at the Principal Seat in Islamabad during the summer break. The court said they also agreed to reduce, if any, the sitting period at Branch Registries.

The court said the actual vacation period availed by judges will remain four weeks, in line with previous years. It described the change as a departure from past practice in how sittings are arranged during the summer recess.
The Supreme Court said the schedule seeks to ensure greater judicial availability and support the uninterrupted hearing and disposal of cases. It said the arrangement reflects a collective effort to improve court performance and strengthen access to timely justice.
