A Spider-Man bootleg starring actor Tom Holland reached 5.9 million accounts on X before the platform removed the full-length film, which was uploaded about 9 hours earlier.
An account named Fredrick Bryan posted “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” at 6:05 am Pacific time, and X removed the video at about 3:25 pm, Variety reported.
The post accumulated more than 143,000 likes and approximately 10,000 reposts. Several other accounts uploaded copies, but X subsequently removed most of them.
Sony Pictures declined to comment on the leak. The studio released the film exclusively in cinemas on July 31.
The incident followed the unauthorised circulation of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” on X. That upload received 2.1 million views within 2.5 hours before its removal.
Universal Pictures said it initiated takedown procedures after learning about “The Odyssey” leak. The studio also said it would pursue available measures to protect its intellectual property.

Destin Daniel Cretton directed the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios production. The official cast includes Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo.
