Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham’s fan gesture after a July 31 game in Portland has resurfaced online, with footage showing her giving a game-worn shoe to a young supporter after Indiana’s 112-98 victory.
The moment occurred at Moda Centre in Portland, Oregon, after Cunningham scored 13 points in the Fever’s fifth consecutive win. The young fan became visibly emotional after receiving the shoe, according to video Indiana shared after the game.
The renewed attention comes as Cunningham is producing one of her most efficient WNBA seasons. Through 39 appearances, she is averaging 8.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists, while shooting a career-best 43.4% from three-point range.

Cunningham is in her second season with Indiana after the Fever re-signed her in April. She originally joined the franchise in a trade before the 2025 season.
