SKARDU: Police have arrested two suspects in the killing of a married couple and their two young children, identifying the principal suspect as the woman’s paternal uncle.
Investigators named the main suspect as Rajab and described the second arrested man as an alleged accomplice. Searches were continuing for others suspected of involvement.
Police believe five people took part in the killings; suspects had gone into hiding in Kurram district, although the available account did not specify where the two arrests took place.
Muhammad Aslam, his wife Hania Aslam and their two children were found dead inside their house; their son was four, and their daughter was two in Madina Colony, Skardu.
According to investigators, the attackers entered the home and killed the family with sharp-edged weapons.
Aslam’s brother, Khadim Hussain, lodged the complaint on which police registered the case. The first information report named Hania’s father, brothers and maternal uncle as suspects. Those allegations remain part of the investigation.

Hussain told police that Aslam had previously received serious threats over his marriage. Investigators are examining whether the killings were connected to the couple’s decision to marry, alongside other possible aspects of the case.
The couple married in Karachi around six years ago before moving to Skardu. Aslam belonged to Skardu, while Hania was originally from Parachinar.
Police officials pledged to use available resources to trace those involved and secure justice for the family.
Residents held protests in Skardu after the killings, demanding the arrest of those responsible and justice for the victims.
