KARACHI, Sindh: A Sindh rain alert has warned of thunderstorms and moderate-to-heavy downpours across several districts from Thursday through Saturday, July 25.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority Sindh issued weather advisories on July 22 and 23 and directed district administrations and relevant departments to remain prepared for the monsoon spell.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast moderate to isolated heavy rainfall in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Sanghar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Matiari, Jamshoro and Shaheed Benazirabad.
Light to moderate rain may affect Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze and Thatta, with occasional breaks during the wet spell.
PDMA Sindh Director General Syed Salman Shah said thunderstorms were also expected in Larkana, Naushahro Feroze and Thatta on Thursday and Friday. He said dewatering pumps were ready for possible rainwater-removal operations.

The authority instructed local administrations to monitor vulnerable areas and implement precautionary measures. No widespread evacuation order or confirmed rain-related casualty was announced with the alert.
The weather system is being supported by monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, while a westerly wave is also affecting parts of Pakistan, according to the meteorological assessment cited by PDMA.
