Sindh Government Initiates Free Tablet Distribution to Students from 9th Grade to Intermediate.

In a progressive step towards digitizing education, the Sindh government has announced a plan to provide free tablets to students from 9th grade to intermediate to ensure students have access to necessary digital resources.

At a recent ceremony held at the Sindh Textbook Board’s warehouse in Karachi, Chairman Abdul Aleem Lashari revealed the details of this initiative. He highlighted that distributing tablets would help address textbook availability delays and shortages, ensuring that students’ education continues without disruption.

Chairman Lashari noted that the program would initially focus on higher-grade students, with plans to expand to additional grades in subsequent phases. This move is part of a larger strategy to align the Sindh Textbook Board with modern educational requirements by transitioning to a paperless environment.

The implementation of this project awaits final approval from Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Shah. Once approved, the formal rollout of the tablet distribution will begin.

In parallel, the distribution of nearly 3 crore free textbooks across Sindh’s 30 districts for the current academic year is nearly complete, with successful deliveries already made in 17 districts, including Karachi.
