ISLAMABAD: The Shehbaz Murad meeting on Monday ended with an agreement to maintain political harmony and continue consultations on matters of national importance, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also discussed political affairs, issues concerning Sindh, ongoing development projects and other matters of mutual interest, according to the PMO statement.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik attended the meeting.
The talks came amid tensions between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) over the recent Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said last week that his party would withhold support for the PML-N-led federal government until its concerns, including objections over the AJK polls, were addressed.

Bilawal alleged that rigging and irregularities affected the elections, including results in Poonch, and criticised the decision to hold the process in phases. The PML-N emerged as the winner of the polls, while the PPP has challenged aspects of the electoral process.
