Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supporter and Senator Afnan recently made a sensational claim regarding Arooba Komal, who was arrested a few days ago.
According to Afnan, Komal operated an astonishing 1.1 million fake social media accounts, misleading millions. This claim has sparked humorous and sceptical reactions on social media.
The claim has surprised many and led to a flurry of humorous comments. Social media users have suggested that if Komal could manage many accounts, political parties like PML-N and PPP should consider hiring her for their digital campaigns. Some have ridiculed the claim, pointing out that such exaggerated statements only undermine the credibility of the party making them.
Journalist’s Take
Journalist Imran Riaz weighed in on the matter, criticizing the use of Arooba Komal in what he described as a propaganda effort. He questioned the plausibility of a single individual managing 1.1 million accounts. Riaz further suggested that if such a feat were possible, PML-N and PPP could employ two individuals to create an exponentially larger network than PTI’s.
This incident highlights the ongoing digital warfare between political parties in Pakistan, where the manipulation of social media narratives has become a critical battleground. It also raises questions about the credibility of accusations made without substantial evidence and the ease with which the public and media can debunk such claims.
