At least 51 people were injured after a bomb ripped through a shrine packed with devotees in the suburbs of Islamabad Friday.
Sources said, the explosion struck when the annual celebrations at the shrine of a saint, Pir Chan Badshah, were in full swing in Pindorian.
“The bomb went off when food was being dished out among devotees”, and eyewitness told Samaa.
According to emergency responders, at least 51 casualties have been ambulanced to different hospitals so far.
SHO, Shehzad Town said that under a pound of explosive material as used in the device, which was planted near one of the walls of the shrine.
“It was a low intensity blast and the bomb was detonated by a remote-control”, he told the media.
The police have launched an investigation after cordoning off the shrine
