The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan has issued a formal statement addressing what it describes as biased and anti-Russian coverage in the Pakistani English-language newspaper, The Frontier Post.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the embassy expressed serious concern over a series of articles it claims consistently portray Russia in a negative light.
The embassy questioned the newspaper’s editorial independence. It stated that The Frontier Post‘s international news service operates out of Washington, D.C., and consistently favors writers with anti-Russian views.

The statement highlighted that the newspaper completely omitted reporting on the recent Moscow Format consultations on Afghanistan. The embassy described this as a key regional event that was widely covered by other Pakistani media, suggesting a Western-leaning bias.
The embassy directly challenged what it called “tired Western narratives” about Russia’s economy and military. It presented data to counter claims of economic decline, citing a 4.1% GDP growth in 2024 and low unemployment.

It also mentioned the successful testing of advanced military systems, including the “Burevestnik” cruise missile and the “Poseidon” submarine, to counter assertions of Western military superiority.
The statement concluded by urging the Pakistani public to seek information from diverse and credible sources, rather than relying on outlets it alleges serve a foreign agenda.
