Zardari directs ministers to reduce fuel burden as President Asif Ali Zardari called for immediate steps to prioritise public relief and ease economic pressure on citizens. The directive came during a high-level meeting held at Bhutto House.

He emphasised that rising petroleum prices must not disproportionately affect the general public.

Senior government officials attended the meeting, including ministers responsible for the interior, finance, and petroleum. Political leadership and provincial representatives also participated. The discussion covered law and order, the economic outlook, and developments in the energy sector.

President Zardari stressed that economic policies should focus on reducing financial pressure on citizens, especially amid rising fuel costs. The interior minister provided an update on ongoing counterterrorism operations and border security.

Officials agreed to continue monitoring economic trends and developments in fuel pricing. The government aims to implement measures that maintain stability while offering relief to the population.
