A Royal Caribbean cabin flood sent water through ceiling lights after Allure of the Seas left Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis, on July 28, viral footage showed.
Passenger Dominic Arcangelo shared the clips through his Instagram account. They had passed 6.5 million views by August 1.
The footage showed water entering the interior cabin 12539 on Deck 12 at about 9 pm Eastern time. About 1 to 2 inches of water covered the floor and spread into nearby rooms and the corridor.
Jessica Cunningham identified herself as the woman wearing yellow in the video. She said a jacuzzi leak caused the flooding, but Royal Caribbean had not publicly confirmed that account.
Cunningham said the water damaged her husband’s mobile phone while it was charging inside the cabin. Crew members moved the family to another room and collected their wet clothes for laundry.

Arcangelo said maintenance workers also removed water and replaced damaged carpet in his neighbouring cabin. He received a 50% discount on a future cruise, according to cruise-industry reporting.
The incident did not disrupt the ship’s eight-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary. The vessel remained scheduled to visit CocoCay on August 1 and return to Fort Lauderdale at 6 am on August 2, according to the published itinerary.
