MINNEAPOLIS: Roman Reigns beat Seth Rollins by pinfall at WWE SummerSlam 2026 on Sunday, retaining the World Heavyweight Championship in the Night 2 main event.
Reigns secured the victory with three successive Spears after declining to use a steel chair while the referee was incapacitated, according to WWE’s official SummerSlam results.
Rollins had delivered a Stomp during the referee’s absence but failed to connect with another attempt from the top rope. Reigns then took control of the closing sequence.
The 33-minute match moved into the crowd before returning to the ringside, where both wrestlers drove each other through announce tables. They also used several moves associated with their former group, The Shield, during the title bout, according to POST Wrestling’s match report.

Reigns accidentally struck the referee with a Spear late in the match. Both competitors subsequently reached for chairs, but Reigns discarded his weapon and continued without it.
WWE presented the match as the final chapter of the rivalry between the former Shield members. Reigns and Rollins exchanged the group’s signature fist bump after the result.
