Singer Rihanna has teased a large collection of unreleased songs, renewing interest in her ninth album while drawing sceptical reactions from some fans.
During a Fenty Beauty TikTok Shop livestream, the 38-year-old compared her music collection with the brand’s Gloss Bomb Vault. A clip of the exchange circulated on X on Wednesday.
She referred to the beauty set’s 10 products and suggested she had at least 17 equivalent vaults of music. That comparison prompted estimates of 170 songs. Rihanna did not explicitly confirm that number or describe the recordings as finished tracks. Her comments offered no release date.
Some fans initially welcomed the prospect of more music, but others questioned whether another hint meant an album was approaching. Several pointed to the years they have spent waiting for the project, commonly called R9.
On X, one user urged: “Guuuurl drop it already. We’ve been waiting for ages.” Others joked about the length of the wait or said they no longer wanted to raise their expectations.
Those comments express individual fans’ frustration, rather than establish Rihanna’s release plans. She has not announced a tracklist or confirmed which recordings might appear on the album.

Her last studio album, “Anti”, arrived on January 28, 2016. The gap concerns full-length albums: Rihanna has released music since then, including “Lift Me Up” on October 28, 2022.
Her official website lists “Friend of Mine” from the “Smurfs” film among her subsequent releases.
