Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the Rehmat Card programme to provide financial assistance to 50,000 eligible families, Pakistan Muslim League (N) said.
Under the scheme, widows will receive Rs 100,000, while orphaned children will also receive Rs 100,000 through JazzCash, according to the party’s post.
Eligible applicants can register by downloading the CM Rehmat Card app or contacting the helpline at 1077.
For widows, eligibility requires widowed status on the national identity card, low-income household status and no existing government financial assistance.
The Punjab government said widows who are government employees or pensioners will not qualify for the Rehmat Card scheme. For orphaned children, registering a guardian and the child’s B-Form are mandatory.
Applicants must also be registered in the PSER survey, and the beneficiary’s mobile number must be registered against their national identity card.
Maryam Nawaz formally approved the Rehmat Card scheme last month to provide financial protection to widows and orphans across Punjab.
