Real Madrid has completed the transfer of Diomande from RB Leipzig, signing the player to a seven-year contract that runs until June 30, 2033, the Spanish club said.
Madrid did not disclose the transfer fee. However, Spanish media reported a club-record package worth €140 million ($161 million), including bonuses.
The Spanish club beat Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool to Diomande’s signature. PSG withdrew over concerns about the fee size, while Liverpool reportedly had a bid rejected in June.
Diomande joined Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes in 2025 and spent one season in the Bundesliga. He was named the league’s young player of the season after scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists.
He becomes Real Madrid’s sixth signing of the summer after Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Espi.

Madrid has also brought Jose Mourinho back for a second spell as coach, replacing Alvaro Arbeloa. The club is reshaping its squad after two consecutive seasons without a major trophy and has also been linked with Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
