Quetta police attack in Mangi Phase III martyred at least nine policemen after terrorists targeted security personnel in Balochistan, officials said.
The deputy commissioner said an exchange of fire between police and terrorists continued through the night.
Police personnel resisted the attackers for several hours before the assault ended. The deputy commissioner of Ziarat said a search was underway for five missing policemen after the attack.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the attackers, casualties on the militant side or any follow-up security operation.
The incident came after a separate May blast in Sarai Naurang tehsil of Lakki Marwat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which killed at least nine people.

Police said that the blast involved a loader rickshaw carrying explosives in a busy market during rush hour. Rescue 1122 shifted the dead and injured from the Lakki Marwat blast site to N
