QUETTA: A Quetta grenade attack killed one person and injured four others outside Yaseen Hospital on Patel Road late Sunday, July 26, police said.

A person riding a motorcycle threw the hand grenade before fleeing the area. Police shifted the casualties to a hospital for treatment. Authorities had not identified the attacker or disclosed the victims’ identities by Monday morning.

CCTV footage aired after the explosion appeared to show the motorcyclist throwing the grenade and leaving the scene.

Initial reports gave conflicting casualty figures. Initially, the police reported one death and four injuries. However, Dawn separately reported four wounded people, including a child who had visited the hospital for a medical consultation.
