MASTUNG, Balochistan: A Mastung coach attack killed at least three passengers and injured several others on Wednesday when gunmen opened fire on a Quetta-to-Karachi bus near Khad Kocha, police said.
The assailants targeted the moving coach near Goro on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway (N-25). The bus had departed from Quetta’s Jabal Noor terminal at about 1 pm.
Police and rescue personnel transported the victims to Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Memorial Hospital in Mastung. Authorities secured the area and began arrangements to move the bodies and injured passengers to Quetta.
Local reporting identified the deceased as Inam-ul-Haq of Qila Abdullah, Syed Tariq Niaz of Karachi and Liaquat Khan of Gulistan. Security officials said the victims’ bodies were later handed over to their families following medico-legal procedures.

Police launched a search operation to locate the attackers and determine the motive. No group had claimed responsibility for the shooting at the time of reporting.
The attack followed separate shootings near Mastung during the preceding days. Police said gunmen had targeted gas bowsers on Dasht Road and opened fire on a family vehicle carrying a woman to Karachi for medical treatment.
