GLASGOW, Scotland: Pakistani boxer Qudrat Ullah was reported missing from the team hotel early Tuesday, hours before the national contingent was scheduled to leave following the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Pakistan Boxing Federation officials confirmed that Qudratullah was last seen in his hotel room at about 2 am on August 4. The team was instructed to assemble in the hotel lobby at 9 am before departing for Pakistan.

Officials checked the boxer’s room after he failed to report at the scheduled time, but could not find him. His passport and return ticket remained in the team manager’s possession, according to federation sources.

The report did not disclose whether Scottish police or Pakistani diplomatic authorities had been formally notified. It also did not establish why Qudratullah left the hotel or where he may have gone.

Qudratullah was among five boxers selected for Pakistan’s Glasgow 2026 squad. The Pakistan Olympic Association had announced a 36-member delegation, including athletes, coaches and officials, for the July 23-August 2 Games.

The disappearance follows earlier incidents involving Pakistani boxers overseas. Zohaib Rasheed disappeared during an Olympic qualifying trip to Italy in 2024. Suleman Baloch and Nazeerullah Khan also went missing before Pakistan’s boxing team left Britain after the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
