The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has streamlined the VPN registration process, making it more accessible for organizations and freelancers.
As announced in a recent statement, entities such as software houses, call centres, banks, embassies, and freelancers can now register their Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) through the PTA’s official website.
Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) members are also eligible to utilize this simplified procedure. To register, applicants must complete an online form, providing crucial details such as their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number, company registration information, and tax registration status. Freelancers must present proof of their work engagement, like a confirmation letter or email.

PTA also requires registrants to supply an IP address for the VPN connection, which they can obtain from their internet service providers. This registration process is free; approvals typically occur within 8 to 10 hours of submission. Over 20,000 companies and freelancers have registered VPNs using this efficient system.
