Teachers protesting for their rights, demanding salaries overdue for three months, barged into the KMC administrators office located at the Civic Center after none of the officials came to address their concerns.

The protestors started gathering on Monday morning at 11:00AM at the Civic Center and are demanding that their pending salaries be disbursed immediately.

Initially, the protestors gathered in the vicinity of the Civic Center however after nobody came forth to listen to their concerns, they gathered outside and blocked the traffic. Due to the difficulties caused by the blocked main road, Traffic officials negotiated with the protestors who marched on the Civic Center again and barged into the KMC Administrator Sajjad Ali Abbasi’s office.

Finally the Senior Director Human Resource Mukhtar Hussain and Municipal Commissioner, Samiuddin Siddiqui came forth to listen to their demands and address their concerns.

Following negotiations, it has been decided that salaries up till the month of August will be disbursed in two days. Negotiations however, are still underway.
