Portugal continues to celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo, its most illustrious football talent, known for his unmatched goal-scoring prowess and enduring athletic vigour.

Ronaldo, who has netted over 130 goals for his national team and won several accolades, including leading Portugal to its first major tournament victory at Euro 2016 and claiming the UEFA Nations League trophy in 2019, has left an indelible mark on Portuguese football.

The 39-year-old football icon recently celebrated scoring his 900th career goal during a UEFA Nations League match against Scotland. Beyond the field, Ronaldo’s influence extends to social media, where he recently became the first to reach one billion followers across various platforms.

In tribute to his numerous contributions and records, Portugal is set to issue a “7” Euro coin featuring Ronaldo’s image and the initials “CR7,” acknowledging his iconic jersey number. Once released, this coin will be recognized as legal tender nationwide.

Ronaldo’s career began at Sporting Lisbon and soared at Manchester United before a significant transfer took him to Real Madrid, where he solidified his status in global football. The Portuguese legend plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
