Polls held in Balochistan’s 11 local bodies

Quetta : The candidates of political parties including PML-N, ANP, PkMAP, JUI-F, PTI, JUI-N and Rind Panel have been elected chairmen and deputy chairmen of four district councils and seven municipal committees of the province.

Official sources in the Provincial Election Commission Office, said here on Friday that elections held for the offices of chairmen and deputy chairmen of four district councils and seven municipal committees were held in areas including District Qila Abdullah, District Kachhi, District Qila Saifullah, District Harnai, District Dera Murad Jamali, District Musakhel, District Mastung and District Pashin.

“Elections for the offices of chairmen and vice chairmen were postponed in these 11 local government bodies when the candidates could not show two-third majority on May 27 this year,” said Provincial Election Commissioner, Syed Sultan Bayazeed.

He further said that now the final phase of elections for the chairmen and vice chairmen of local government institutions have completed across Balochistan.

According to unofficial results, Sardarzada Mir Sardar Khan Rind and Mir Shadi Khan Bangulzai of Rind Panel were elected Chairman and Vice Chairman of District Council Kachhi, respectively. Haji Abdul Khaliq Mirzai and Tor Gul Khan Jogezai, candidates of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl were elected chairman and vice chairman of District Council Qila Saifullah, respectively.

Malik Usman Khan Achakzai of Awami National Party and Abdul Wakeel Kakar of JUI-F were elected chairman and vice chairman of District Council Qila Abdullah, respectively. Sulahuddin Achakzai of Pashtoonkhawa Milli Awami Party and Obaidullah Achakzai of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Nazriati were elected chairman and vice chairman of Municipal Corporation Chaman, respectively.

Shah Jahan Pathan and Pista Khan Panezai, candidates of All Parties Awami Alliance were elected chairman and vice chairman of District Council Harnai, respectively. Mir Ghulam Nabbi Umrani and Rana Khan Mogheri, the candidates of Awam Dost Panel were elected chairman and vice chairman of Municipal Committee Dera Murad Jamali, respectively.

Engineer Paio Khan and Charsham Khan of JUI-F were elected chairman and vice chairman of District Council Musakhel, respectively. – APP
