Sindh has stepped up its EV transport initiative, pushing for modern, inclusive, and sustainable mobility under PPP leadership. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the province is focusing on women’s empowerment and youth opportunities through new transport projects and investment in electric vehicles.

According to the statement, Sindh has launched Pakistan’s first EV buses and Pink EV Scooties as part of that broader effort. The government has also highlighted the growing role of women-led transport services in shaping safer and more accessible travel options.

The government says the Pink Bus service has gained global recognition and continues to stand out as a women-led transport project. At the same time, the Pink EV Taxi initiative aims to provide safer travel for women across the province.

Sindh is driving a new era of modern, inclusive, and sustainable transport under PPP leadership, with a strong focus on women empowerment and youth opportunities.

Memon also said free training helped increase the number of women riders from 160 to more than 20,000. That rise reflects the province’s efforts to improve mobility while opening new opportunities for women to participate in the transport sector.

Sindh’s transport strategy also links mobility reform with youth development. By introducing EV buses and Pink EV Scooties, the province aims to create a transport system that is both cleaner and more inclusive.

Officials have also pointed to plans to promote EV adoption and attract investment in Dhabeji SEZ. That move could support broader economic activity tied to electric vehicles and related industries.

Memon said the government remains committed to transparency, innovation, and public empowerment. He described the transport drive as part of a wider vision for a stronger Sindh built on modern services and inclusive growth.
