Poland said its air force intercepteda Poland Russian plane incident over international waters in the Baltic Sea on Wednesday.
The Polish army said the Russian reconnaissance aircraft flew without a filed flight plan. It said the aircraft also kept its transponders switched off.
The army said the plane remained in international airspace and did not violate Polish airspace.
Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz called the flight a provocation and a possible aviation safety risk.

He said Polish pilots would continue to respond immediately to similar incidents. The incident came amid ongoing tensions between Russia and NATO members in the Baltic region.
