TEHRAN, Iran: A Pezeshkian-Khamenei meeting covered Iran’s war, economy and public needs, the supreme leader’s office announced Sunday. The meeting date was not disclosed.
President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei discussed military developments and the outlook for the conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.
The talks also addressed household needs, management of the rial, foreign currency and energy expenditure, and Iran’s economic relations with foreign countries, the Leader’s Office Information Centre said.

The meeting occurred around the start of Pezeshkian’s third year in office. Mehr News Agency said he was formally appointed president on July 28, 2024, and sworn in on July 30.

Khamenei has not been seen publicly since succeeding his father as supreme leader in March, Reuters reported.
Basij Organisation deputy Qasem Qoraishi said footage showing Khamenei in public and meeting military commanders would be released later. He did not provide a publication date, Reuters reported.
