Peshawar Zalmi have officially booked their place in the PSL 11 playoffs after results elsewhere confirmed their top-four finish in the eight-team competition. The former champions, who won the title in 2017, secured qualification after Quetta Gladiators beat Lahore Qalandars by six wickets at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
Zalmi sit atop the standings with 13 points from seven matches. That tally can no longer be overtaken by the team currently in fourth place by the end of the league stage.
The qualification highlights Zalmi’s consistency through the first half of the tournament and strengthens their position as a leading contender for the title.
Peshawar Zalmi PSL Playoffs Spot
Quetta Gladiators’ victory over Lahore Qalandars proved decisive in confirming Zalmi’s progress. Once that result came through, the mathematics of the points table guaranteed that Zalmi would remain inside the top four.
That outcome gave Zalmi official confirmation without them needing to play their next fixture first. It also added extra weight to their strong run of form across recent matches.
Peshawar Zalmi opened their PSL 11 campaign with a five-wicket win over debutants Rawalpindiz in a high-scoring contest. Their next match against Islamabad United was then washed out by rain in Lahore.
After that, Zalmi put together an impressive winning run. They beat Hyderabad Kingsmen, Karachi Kings, defending champions Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, and Quetta Gladiators in successive matches to consolidate their first-place position.
That sequence turned them into the tournament’s pace-setters and helped them become the first side to formally secure a top-four finish.
Race For Remaining Playoff Spots Stays Open
Even though Zalmi are through, the rest of the playoff battle remains wide open. All seven other teams are still in contention for the remaining three places.
Islamabad United are second with nine points from seven matches, while Multan Sultans are close behind on eight points with a game in hand. That leaves the rest of the field fighting to stay alive as the league stage moves toward its final stretch.
