PANJGUR, Balochistan: Security forces killed five militants in a Panjgur intelligence operation, security sources told Radio Pakistan on Monday.
The sources said the group included an alleged commander named Wazir. Security forces carried out the raid in the Sarkani and Chedgi areas.
The operation formed part of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3, according to Radio Pakistan. Officials did not disclose the exact time of the raid.
The sources used the government label “Fitna al-Hindustan” for the targeted group. This label alleges Indian support, but the reports offered no evidence for that claim.

Troops recovered four motorcycles, machine guns, other weapons and ammunition, the sources said.
The sources accused the militants of robbery, extortion, kidnapping and attacks on traders and civilians. Security forces continued to search the surrounding area.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the forces and their conduct. He also promised continued federal support for counterterrorism efforts, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
