Pakistan dropped to eighth in the Pakistan WTC standings after Bangladesh completed a 2-0 Test series sweep with a 78-run win in Sylhet on Wednesday.
Bangladesh bowled Pakistan out for 358 in 97.2 overs while defending 437 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, according to ESPNcricinfo’s scorecard. Taijul Islam led the hosts with 6/120 in 34.2 overs.
The win lifted Bangladesh to fifth in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 table with 28 points and a points percentage of 58.33. Pakistan slipped to eighth with one win and three defeats from four Tests, four points and a points percentage of 8.33, according to ESPNcricinfo’s standings.
Pakistan’s chase was anchored by Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 94 off 166 balls with 10 fours. Sajid Khan added 28 off 36 balls before Bangladesh took the final three wickets in the morning session.
Nahid Rana took two wickets, while Shoriful Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed one each. Litton Das was named player of the match, while Mushfiqur Rahim was named player of the series, ESPNcricinfo reported.

Australia remained top of the WTC table with 84 points and a points percentage of 87.50. New Zealand and South Africa occupied second and third place, while India fell to sixth after Bangladesh’s win.
