Bangladesh reached 203-4 at lunch on Day 3 of the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd Test, extending their lead to 249 runs at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
The hosts resumed on 110-3 and lost only Najmul Hossain Shanto in the morning session. Khurram Shahzad trapped the Bangladesh captain lbw for 15 to claim his third wicket of the innings.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das then added an unbeaten 50-run stand to keep Bangladesh in control. Das went to lunch on 48 off 66 balls, while Rahim reached 39 not out.
Bangladesh had taken a 46-run first-innings lead after bowling Pakistan out for 232 in 57.4 overs on Day 2.
Babar Azam top-scored for Pakistan with 68 off 84 balls, hitting 10 fours. Sajid Khan added 38 off 28 balls, while Shan Masood and Salman Ali Agha scored 21 each.
Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam took three wickets each for Bangladesh. Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two wickets apiece.
Bangladesh had earlier made 278 in their first innings, led by Litton’s 126 off 159 balls.
