Pakistan assistant coach Adnan Zaker told the media that his team would enter the match without pressure. He described the contest as a “50-50” game.
Zaker said India had invested heavily in hockey and had a 14-member coaching staff. He added that Pakistan still needed more time to develop.
Pakistan captain Abu Bakar said the team had already faced India twice in the Pro League. He said Pakistan would try to correct mistakes from those matches.

Striker Rana Waheed said Pakistan remained confident despite failing to beat Wales. He said the players believed they could defeat India.
