Pakistan Railways land worth Rs1.42 billion was recovered in Karachi after an anti-encroachment operation along the Karachi Circular Railway alignment, officials said.

Authorities said the operation led to the recovery of 2.72 acres near Deh Dozan, Dow Hospital and behind King Classic Apartments. Railway Police also detained 12 people during the action.

Pakistan Railways officials said the land forms part of the designated Karachi Circular Railway corridor. They said official records confirmed the property belongs to Pakistan Railways.

Officials alleged that the land had been occupied for an unauthorised private project named “Sheikhani Sky Towers.”

The operation was supervised by SP Railways Muhammad Ameen Alam. Officials said it followed the vision of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi and a special order from Divisional Superintendent Jamshed Alam.

Pakistan Railways moved ahead after a court did not extend a status quo order in case number 108/2026 on May 25, 2026. The department then worked with the Railway Police and the district administration to regain possession.

A Pakistan Railways spokesperson said FIRs had been registered against the detained individuals. He said nationwide operations against encroachments on railway land were continuing.
