ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan petrol price fell by Rs0.43 to Rs390.79 per litre from September 18, while high-speed diesel rose by Rs3.47 to Rs424.92 per litre, the Petroleum Division said.
The revised ex-depot rates lowered petrol from Rs391.22 per litre and increased diesel from Rs421.45. The Ministry of Energy said the changes reflected movements in international prices, Platts rates, premiums and other pricing components.
The revision came as the federal government rolled out a targeted Rs100-per-litre petrol relief scheme for motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi rickshaws and cars with engines of up to 800cc. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the measure amid higher global oil prices linked to tensions in the Middle East.

Under the scheme, eligible two- and three-wheelers can receive Rs100 per litre in relief on up to 20 litres each month. Car owners with engines up to 800cc can claim the subsidy on up to 30 litres monthly.
The programme began in Islamabad on September 15 and was extended nationwide, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, from September 17. Registration for eligible users has also opened.
Petroleum dealers began implementing the scheme on Thursday after reaching an agreement with the federal government over reimbursement and operational concerns, according to the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association.
