ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan petrol price rose by Rs4.45 to Rs333.10 per litre on Thursday, August 6, while high-speed diesel fell by Rs2 to Rs383.86.

ARY News reported the revision while citing a Petroleum Division notification. The new rates apply nationwide from August 6, according to the supplied report.

The petrol increase raises costs for private motorists, motorcyclists and transport services that use motor spirit. However, the reduction in high-speed diesel lowers the notified rate for trucks, buses, agricultural machinery and other diesel-powered vehicles.

The supplied report also listed a revised diesel levy. However, the stated increase of Rs1.44 does not reconcile with the reported change from Rs70.86 to Rs72.26, which equals Rs1.40. The levy figure should therefore be checked against the original notification before publication.

The Petroleum Division publishes official petroleum-product price notifications, although its online news archive had not yet surfaced the August 6 notice when checked.
