SIALKOT, Punjab: Pakistan’s global success over the past 18 months has been unprecedented, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said at a private college convocation.
Asif said Pakistan had moved from being associated with terrorism to being viewed as a symbol of peace.
He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for Pakistan’s role in regional diplomacy involving the United States and Iran.
The minister said the government had achieved several milestones without parallel in Pakistan’s 78-year history.

Speaking on education, Asif said an educated society could not default and urged students to continue learning throughout life.
He expressed satisfaction that women made up around 80% of the graduating class. Asif called for a uniform curriculum across Pakistan to strengthen national identity.
He also urged political leaders to prioritise national development over confrontation. The minister thanked the people of Sialkot and said his political career remained rooted in the city.
