ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China agreed to strengthen media cooperation and public diplomacy during the third round of their spokespersons’ dialogue on Monday.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan led Pakistan’s delegation, while Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning represented Beijing.

Both sides discussed closer coordination between their foreign ministries, particularly on media engagement, strategic communication and public diplomacy.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the delegations agreed to maintain regular consultations and expand exchanges between their institutions.

Officials also launched the China-Pakistan Information Corridor at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad. Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar attended the ceremony alongside Mao Ning and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong.

The initiative aims to connect media organisations, businesses, researchers and cultural institutions in both countries. Tarar outlined four areas of cooperation: media and fact-checking; business; think tanks and research; and culture, tourism, and youth exchanges.
