ISLAMABAD: Pakistan carried out aerial and drone strikes on 10 locations in Afghanistan, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said early Thursday.
Federal Information Minister Tarar wrote on X that the targets were sites used to launch and store drones. He linked the operation to attempted Afghan Taliban drone attacks earlier in the week. He invoked Pakistan’s right to self-defence.
Tarar called the strikes “deliberate, precise, calibrated and proportionate”. He described the targets as military objectives directly linked to the attempted attacks.
AP, citing security sources, reported that Pakistan’s air defence systems intercepted eight drones entering from Afghanistan on Wednesday.

According to those sources, air defences shot down four near the Torkham border. The remaining drones were shot down in mountainous areas near Kohat.
