Security forces have killed 88 terrorists in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations across Balochistan since July 5, security sources said Saturday.
Nine more Khawarij were killed in the latest operations. They said Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan and police were jointly conducting Operation Shaban against militant hideouts.
Security sources said the latest actions targeted terrorists hiding in remote mountainous areas through coordinated aerial and ground operations.
They said 52 terrorists had been killed under Operation Shaban alone, while the combined toll from the operation and other intelligence-based actions reached 88.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the Pakistan Army, FC Balochistan and police after the latest operation. He said security forces had foiled the enemy’s plans through courage and resolve.
Naqvi said sacrifices made for peace in Balochistan would remain part of history. He added that terrorism must be eliminated completely.

Earlier, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said 42 people, including 11 soldiers, 27 police personnel and four civilians, were martyred in three attacks in Balochistan.
Lt Gen Chaudhry said security forces launched follow-up operations after the attacks and killed 54 terrorists.
