The internally displaced persons (IDPs) elders’ jirga here demanded from the government to make arrangements for the return of all those IDPs whose areas in Miranshah and Mirali have thus far been declared “cleared” by the military.
Sources said a jirga of the elders of Dawar and Mushran tribes of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) was held at Bagh-e-Nara here.
Addressing the jirga tribal elders said that, “their properties, shops and markets in Mirali and Miranshah have been destroyed and measures be taken for the security and protection of whatever left. The elders said as the government claims Miranshah and Mirali have been cleared of terrorists, then the government should make arrangements for the return of IDPs of those areas.”
The jirga also demanded their participation in the work of reconstruction and rehabilitation of affected area
