Nvidia has pledged $100 billion to OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT. This marks one of the largest technology investments in history. The New York Times reported the development on September 22, 2025, underscoring the scale of the ongoing artificial intelligence (AI) boom.

Nvidia, the world’s leading designer of AI-focused chips, and OpenAI, known for building cutting-edge tools such as ChatGPT, are deepening their partnership. The massive investment is expected to accelerate AI development. It will strengthen both firms’ positions as leaders in the field.

The funding will be used to:

  • Drive new AI projects and research.
  • Support the development of advanced chatbots and tools.
  • Boost Nvidia’s chip sales as demand for AI infrastructure grows.
  • Provide OpenAI with long-term resources for innovation.

Industry analysts say this deal could spark a wave of similar large-scale funding across the tech sector, pushing the next phase of AI growth.

Tech experts view the pledge as proof that AI is not just hype but a transformative force. It is drawing unprecedented financial backing. Investments of this size, they argue, highlight AI’s potential to change how people work, communicate, and interact with technology.

Nvidia’s $100 billion commitment sets a new benchmark in technology investment. The deal not only reinforces AI’s central role in the future of computing. It also signals that global competition in the sector is only intensifying.
